1940s Brown Tilt Hat - Etsy。This is an absolutely beautiful gem of a vintage hat! The stricture is rigid, and consists of a flattop low crown surrounded by a medium width brim. The top of the hat is completely covered in yellow feathers, and the bottom of the brim plus the inside of the crown are covered in brown fabric. There is a full yellow veil that covers the brim, but not the crown.A brown band is attached to the inside which is gathered by an elastic \"O\" ring which keeps the hat in a tilted position. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, an extended cap, or a combination of these. 30s Fashion certainly seemed fussier than the 1920s with its relentless ornaments of bows, trims and frills. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage hat, not new nor perfect! This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
