VINTAGE Nettleton Black Leather Loafer 12 AAAA Narrow Cox Shank Made USA 60s
download picture
description
Stop. These are not modern \"Nettleton.\" These are Syracuse-made originals from the company that invented the loafer.
A.E. Nettleton Co. was founded in 1879 in Syracuse, New York and made fine mens footwear for more than 100 years. They called themselves \"The World\'s Slowest Made Shoe\", and in the early 1930s they introduced and patented this style of shoe and coined the word \"loafer\" to describe it. The company designed and patented \'the Loafer\' in 1937 and lasted 105 years before going bankrupt in 1984.
What you are buying:
• Model 67120 strap loafer, black polished calfskin, center-seam biscuit toe
• Goodyear welted leather sole stamped \"Nettleton / COX SHANK PAT\'D\"
• Size 12 AAAA/AA — that\'s a true narrow, split width (AAAA forefoot, AA heel).
• Last 724, made in USA
Condition: excellent vintage. Uppers have light honest creasing, no cracks or dry rot. Soles show almost zero wear, heels are solid with original rubber taps. Lining is clean, insole stamp crisp.
Style it: Ivy League, Mad Men office, wedding guest, or with cuffed denim and a chore coat for that 70s trad vibe.
